Thank you for choosing M.A. Driving School for quality traffic
safety education. We appreciate the opportunity to provide a
positive experience to you. We ensure the most up-to-date safe and
comprehensive instruction. These policies are designed to help the
student understand their responsibilities during this course. We
strongly recommend students read this information thoroughly, copy
it and contact us if you have any questions or comments prior,
during, or after course completion.
Students must have a permit to perform their BTW Drive appointments.
Student Drop off and Pick-Up-
Students are responsible to be at the school prearranged pick-up
points on time. For Customer Convenience for a $35 fee, the driving
instructor can pick you up and drop you off for your driving
appointments.
Behind the Wheel Instruction-
Students will be provided four one-hour BTW Drives. Students must
have their permit with them in order to complete the drive.
Students are responsible for scheduling/canceling drives for their
own BTW drive appointments. A 48 Hour notice is required to cancel a
scheduled drive, by calling 253-569-0021. If a student does not show
up (NO SHOW) or forgets their permit a $50 fee will be billed. A
second No Show/No Permit will cost $50 and a third $100. These fees
must be paid before the student can schedule or keep future drive
appointments. M.A. Owners’ pay instructors to be available for your
scheduled drive appointment. Instructors may require students in
need of 2-4 hours practice BTW with an Adult Licensed 5 years before
next drive. Instructors will file a “Progress Report” which rates
the student’s skills that are in need of improving thru Practice,
Practice, and Practice. Use the progress report as your reference
guide. Practice as much as possible
to reinforce the objectives learned and for maximum benefit of safe
and incident free driving.
Behind the Wheel (BTW) Final Exam-
Students will review four required maneuvers and then perform a mock
DOL BTW exam. Students will start with 100 points and should score
75 points minimum to pass. If a student scores below 75, review the
Final BTW Exam Form, for skills in need of improvement to ensure
passing the Final BTW Driving Exam at DOL.
Additional Behind the Wheel Instruction-
Students (with parent permission) can request
additional BTW instruction. Additional instruction will cost $50 per
one-hour drive.
Continuous repetitive practice is the key in the learning to drive
process. “Teens” are required to show proof of 50 hours minimum of
supervised driving and 10 hours must happen at night per DOL
requirements. M.A. Driving School recommends the same for the 18 and
over community. AARP offers a safe Driving Course. They are welcome
to all ages. Approximate cost is $10 for a 6-8 hour class.
Dates/Times available at most community centers and even online
classes for you convenience.
Having a Driver's License can increase a persons social and
